Dibond® - The Ultimate Substrate
Features
Dibond®, the Ultimate Substrate, is a rigid, durable aluminum composite material consisting of two pre-painted sheets of .012-inch aluminum bonded to a solid polyethylene core ?? a unique composition that makes it approximately one-half the weight of aluminum. Dibond® is an excellent replacement for aluminum, MDO, plywood, thick gauge plastics, and some laminated fluted/solid core sheets.
Application
Renowned as the most rigid and durable ACM panel. Dibond®'s superior flatness is suitable for direct digital or screen printing, and is perfect for creating interior or exterior signage, exhibits and displays.
OUR PRODUCTS
Adhesives Used with Dibond® Material
One of the display features in great demand is the ability to attach Dibond® material to a substrate without having exposed fasteners. The vast majority of this type connection is done using adhesives.
Fire Characteristics of Dibond Material
It is necessary to know the fire characteristics of materials when they are used in applications where there may be stringent rules on how the materials behave when exposed to sources of combustion.
Dibond® Deflection Data
Deflections of Dibond® material under load are demonstrated by the amount of spacing between supports across the short dimension of the panel in comparison to the panel deflection.
Dibond® for Workzone Safety Signage
New criteria went into effect in October 2000 and requires work zone safety signage to be tested in a full scale vehicle crash.
Screen-Print Ink Compatibility of Dibond®
Screen-print Dibond® signage and displays with recommended inks. Consult with the ink manufacturer if there are any questions regarding the use of a particular ink.
Cutting Dibond® Material
Dibond® can be cut using methods common to both the metal and woodworking industries. No cutting lubricants, oils or coolants are required.
